1) Get on one's nerve
Used when someone or something is bothering you.
E.g. Will you please stop doing that, it is getting on my nerves.
2) Feel blue
Used when feeling sad.
E.g. It's okay, don't feel blue.
3) Get foot in the door
Used when passing the first step of a long process.
E.g. It's not a great position. But at least I am in the foot of the door.
4) Throw in the towel
Used to represent quitting or surrender.
E.g. He is not a quitter, so he will not throw in the towel.
5) Out of the blue
Used to refer something which is suddenly out of nowhere; spontaneous.
E.g. He is pretty funny, he always cracks jokes out of the blue.
6) Know something inside out
To know about something in detail.
E.g. Ask candy to help you with your homework. She knows Calculus inside out.
7) On the dot
Used to denote being on the actual time.
E.g. Our flight takes off is at 4 ‘o’ clock so let us be there at 2 o clock on the dot
8) Keeping my fingers crossed
Used to refer that you are hoping for good luck.
E.g. I hope this plan works. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
9) Out of this world
Used to refer that it is amazing.
E.g. The concert was out of this world.
10) Piece of cake
Used to refer that is very easy.
E.g. Learning to type is just a piece of cake. You just need to be persistent.
11) Keep your cool
To act normal.
E.g. Here she is coming. Keep your cool.
12) If you insist
Used to agree after other person demanding it.
E.g. we will stay for longer time if you insist.
13) My two cents
To give or share your opinion.
E.g. I don't agree with what is happening here. That's just my two cents.
14) I am hosed.
Used to tell that we are out of luck or to be screwed.
E.g. I am hosed. My mom found that I skipped my classes last week.
15) That figures
Used as an alternative for "that makes sense"
E.g. He did not talk to you after that incident? That figures.
16) Pie in the sky
Pleased to imagine but impossible to attain.
E.g. His dream of becoming an actor is just a pie in the sky.
17) Back to the grind
Going to work after a break.
E.g. Ok everyone. Break time is over. Get back to the grind.
18) It serves you right
To express that justice happened because that person deserved it.

E.g. It serves you right. You were not nice to him.
19) Lighten up
Used to tell someone not to be depressed
E.g. Lighten up. There will be another chance to play.
20) Keep me in the loop
To be informed about everything in that subject.
E.g. Thanks for the update, just keep me in the loop.
